Hace mucho, mucho tiempo, Marujita soñaba con ser la princesa de una galaxia muy lejana. Junto a sus pequeños amigos Leftwing y Rightwing jugaban a recrear batallas en las que luchaban por alcanzar la paz del Universo.

Se imaginaban a bordo de naves espaciales, viajando por multitud de planetas remotos, algunos de ellos inhóspitos. En esos viajes, siempre se encontraban con personajes peculiares que les contaban historias sobre sus planetas.

Aunque Marujita era muy valiente a veces pasaba mucho miedo, porque realmente había seres extremadamente malvados y siempre con ganas de fastidiar, especialmente a las mujeres. Esto la ponía de bastante mal humor y hacía que al día siguiente volviese con su espada láser bien en alto dispuesta a pelear concienzudamente contra los malos.

Ahora Marujita ya es mayor. Ya no sueña con ser princesa ni con convertirse en la salvadora del Universo, pero curiosamente, cada vez que se pone este poncho blanco se siente irremediablemente tocada por la Fuerza.

Mrs. Leia

Long, long time ago, Marujita dreamt with becoming a princess in a far away galaxy. Together with her little friends Leftwing and Rightwing, she played recreating battles fought to achieve peace in the Universe.

They imagined they were onboard spaceships travelling to masses of remote planets, some of them inhospitable. During those trips, they always met singular characters who told them stories about their planets.

Even if Marujita was very brave, sometimes she was very scared because there were beings extremely evil always ready to annoy, especially women. This pissed her off so the following day she would come back with her laser sword up high ready to fiercely fight against the bad guys.

Marujita is a grownup now. She doesn’t dream with becoming a princess nor with turning into a Universe savior anymore, but oddly enough every time she wears this white poncho she helplessly feels touched by the Force.

Del odio al amor sólo hay cinco días

DEL AMOR AL ODIO SOLO HAY CINCO DÍAS

Es verdad que cinco días en la capital le bastaron a Marujita para reconciliarse con la ciudad, pero no hay que olvidar que llevaba ya unos cuantos años renegando de Madrid.

Nadie sabe muy bien de dónde surgió ese «odio». De hecho, la primera vez que se negó a acompañarnos en una visita exprés de dos días, todos nos quedamos bastante extrañados, ya que desde muy pequeña y durante muchos años siempre había viajado a Madrid al menos una vez al año (un viaje en familia a visitar a su abuela paterna). Este acontecimiento era para ella la mayor de las alegrías, bueno, excepto un año en que salió de casa tan entusiasmada que al bajar las escaleras saltando de tres en tres se cayó y se torció un tobillo. ¡Menudo disgusto! Aunque  Marujita intentó a toda costa convencernos de que era porque se iba a tener que pasar todo el viaje metida en casa de su abuela, nosotros sabíamos que el motivo era otro, y es que debido a la gran hinchazón de su pie, el médico se vio obligado a cortarle su bota náutica (por aquel entonces sus preferidas y por las cuales sus padres habían desembolsado una nada desdeñable cantidad).

Pero a lo que íbamos, ¿qué hizo que Marujita se reconciliase con la capital? Pues nada más y nada menos que un viaje REDONDO.

Con motivo de una jornada sobre blogs y moda, Marujita y su amiga iMeibol se fueron a los madriles (tenían que estar allí y a iMeibol le costó varias semanas convencerla). A pesar de que salió  de casa bastante enfurruñada, la cara le empezó a cambiar cuando al llegar a Madrid apareció por sorpresa a recogerlas su amigo MiKee, a quien hacía más de dos años que no veía. El viernes, como es de rigor en la capital, se fueron de tiendas a husmear las últimas novedades y a buscar inspiración en las calles, y a medida que pasaba el día la cara se le iluminaba un poco más. Y más se le iluminó cuando el Sr. Josi las llamó y les dijo que tenían invitaciones para ir al D-Code; ¡no sólo iba a disfrutar de sus admirados Sigur Ros, sino que tendría la oportunidad de hablar con ellos! Si le hubierais visto la cara mientras tocaban Hopipolla…

A la mañana siguiente, con ojeras pero con una sonrisa de oreja a oreja y con la nueva chaqueta hecha para la ocasión, se dirigieron al Museo del Traje, donde participaron en una intensa e interesante jornada en la que se habló de blogs, redes sociales, profesionalización del medio y, cómo no, de moda.

El domingo, aunque agotadas, se emocionaron viendo la exposición de Hopper, y tras una comida entre amigos y posterior tarde de cañas, las últimas carcajadas del viaje las provocó una divertidísima sesión de micro teatro.

Redondo, ¿no?

FROM HATE TO LOVE IN JUST FIVE DAYS

It is true; Marujita just needed five days in Madrid to reconcile herself with the city, although we must not forget she had spent a few years disowning it.

No one really knows where this “hate” came from. In fact, the first time she refused to accompany us for a two-day express visit, we were all quite surprised, since for years she used to travel to Madrid at least once a year (a family trip to visit her grandmother on her father side). This event used to be a big joy for her – well, except for that year she came out of the house so excited that she twisted her ankle while going down the stairs three at a time. Boy, she was upset! Although Marujita tried to convince us at all cost that the reason was that she would have to spend the whole time at her grandmother’s, we knew she was upset for a different reason: due to the swelling of her foot, the doctor had to cut her nautical boots (at the time they were her favorite and her parents had paid quite a lot for them).

But, let’s stay on topic. What made Marujita reconcile with Madrid? Well, just a PERFECT trip.

Due to a seminar on blogs and fashion, Marujita and her friend iMeibol went to Madrid (this event was a must and it took iMeibol a few weeks to convince Marujita). Even if she left home in quite a mood, her face began to change when, by surprise, her friend MiKee (who she had not seen for a couple of years) picked them up. On Friday, as it is customary in Spain’s capital city, they went shopping, prying for novelties and looking for inspiration on the streets… and her face started to get brighter as the day went by. And it got even brighter when they received a call from Mr. Josi to let them know he got invitations for the D-Code; she was not only going to enjoy the concert by her beloved Sigur Ros, but she would have the opportunity to talk to them! You should have seen her face when they played Hopipolla…

Next morning, with rings under their eyes but grinning from ear to ear and wearing a new jacket made for the occasion, they headed to the Dress Museum, where they participated on an intense and interesting seminar about blogs, social networks, professionalization of the industry and, of course, fashion.

On Sunday, even if they were exhausted, they were moved by Hopper’s exhibition and, after having lunch with friends and going for a few beers, they last roar with laughter at a really funny micro-theater performance.

It was perfect, wasn’t it?

Vestido o falda?

DRESS OR SKIRT?

Poncho blanco

Hola! Como habéis visto en Carnavales Espaciales, Marujita se ha puesto uno de sus ponchos para disfrazarse de Leia.

El poncho está hecho en una tela de punto blanco que además está entretejida con un hilo muy fino plateado (aunque apenas se distinga en la imagen) y que le aporta un brillo muy sutil. El forro del poncho se ha hecho con una tela estampada de círculos rojos asimétricos.

El poncho está todo ribeteado con cinta en tono similar al punto y tiene dos detalles muy característicos: el cuello y la parte de atrás, como podéis ver en las fotos siguientes.

Por último, aquí tenéis las dos propuestas de la semana, que aunque Marujita lo haya utilizado para vestirse de princesa Leia no quiere decir que no se pueda usar en otras ocasiones. Para la primera propuesta, un poco más arregladilla, hemos elegido de nuevo el color rojo (pantalón vaquero rojo, zapatos rojos y pañuelo) y para la segunda más sport nos hemos decantado por los jeans de toda la vida (vaquero azul gastado, zapatillas blancas y cartera de mano).

WHITE PONCHO

Hi! As you have seen in Spatial Carnival, Marujita has dressed up as Leia with one of her ponchos. This one is made of a white knitwear fabric interwoven with a very thin silver thread (although one can barely see it in the photo) that provides it with a very subtle shining effect. The inside of the poncho is made of a patterned fabric of asymmetric red dots.

The poncho is trimmed with a ribbon of a similar shade than the knitwear and has two very particular details: the neck and the back, as you can see in the next couple of images.

Finally, these are her two weekly suggestions. Although Marujita has worn it to dress as a princess, this doesn’t mean it cannot be used for other occasions. For the first suggestion (a bit dressier), we have chosen once again red (red jeans, red shoes and a scarf); for the second one (sporty style) we have opted for classical jeans (worn-out blue jeans, white sneakers and a purse).

Carnavales espaciales

Aunque Marujita siempre ha presumido de ser muy valiente, la verdad es que de pequeña era muy miedica y muy asustadiza (y de hecho, yo diría que todavía lo sigue siendo), y aunque no tiene mucha memoria, hay un recuerdo que le viene a la cabeza una y otra vez y que últimamente se ha vuelto más recurrente.

Lo que le pasó a Marujita tuvo lugar en un majestuoso cine hoy ya desaparecido.  A ella le encantaba ir allí, y mientras no se apagaban las luces, se entretenía mirando hacia los balcones e imaginándose como una bella y enigmática dama a la que pretendían un sinfín de valientes caballeros. En esta ocasión estaba especialmente emocionada ya que soñaba con volver a ver en aquella pantalla gigante a su idolatrado Han Solo. Pero Marujita pronto despertó de su ensoñación… y es que sintió tanto miedo al ver aparecer a Jabba el Hutt que se escondió debajo del asiento y ya no quiso salir hasta que acabó la película, lo cual fue durante algún tiempo el motivo de burlas de sus hermanos y amigos.

Después de aquel episodio  y por la vergüenza que pasó, Marujita apenas volvió a mostrar interés por la saga, pero años después, gracias a sus amigos Leftwing y Rightwing, acabó convirtiéndose en una entusiasta seguidora del destino de la República.

Este año, con motivo del estreno de Star Wars 3D, hemos decidido rendirle  nuestro particular homenaje y hemos organizado para el martes de carnaval una fiesta por todo lo alto.

Como no podía ser de otro modo, Marujita se ha disfrazado de Princesa Leia, para convertirse al menos por unas horas en la real novia de Han Solo, y ha elegido su nuevo poncho blanco realizado para la ocasión.

Prepararlo y organizarlo, ha sido todo una aventura, y en estos momentos, a punto de comenzar la fiesta, como dice la canción de Spiritualized…

SPATIAL CARNIVAL

Although Marujita has always boasted about being very brave, the truth is as a little girl she was quite coward and jumpy (in fact, I would say she still is). Even if she doesn’t remember much, there is a memory that pops up in her head again and again and that lately has become more recurrent.

What happened to Marujita took place at a majestic cinema theater today gone. She loved going there and, while waiting for the lights to be turned off, she amused herself looking at the balconies and imaging she was a beautiful, enigmatic lady who was being wooed by an endless number of brave gentlemen. At that time she was particularly excited, dreaming about watching her idolized Han Solo again on that big screen. However, Marujita soon enough woke up from her fantasy… She was so shocked with Jabba the Hutt’s appearance that she hid herself under her seat and refused to come out until the end of the movie, which gave her brothers and friends a reason to tease her for a while.

After that experience, Marujita felt so ashamed that barely showed any interest in the saga, although several years later, thanks to her friends Leftwing and Rightwing, she became quite an enthusiastic follower of the destiny of the Republic.

This year, to celebrate the premier of Star Wars 3D, we have decided to pay a special tribute and have organized a party in style for Mardi Gras.

Needless to say, Marujita dressed up as Princess Leia, so she could become for a few hours Han Solo’s real girlfriend, and chose her new white poncho, specially made for the occasion.

It has been quite an adventure to prepare and organize everything, but, right now, the party is about to start, as the song by Spiritualized goes…
